Scottywins Publisher Recovery 1.0.0
Windows x64 self-contained C# application. Requires LibreOffice installed separately from https://www.libreoffice.org/.
Extract ZIP to a local folder. Open Portable/ScottywinsPublisherRecovery.exe.
Choose Input folder, including a mapped drive or UNC folder. Output is automatically Input/Recovered PDFs. Subfolders are preserved beneath that output.
LibreOffice is detected in standard Program Files locations; Browse to its program/soffice.com (preferred) or soffice.exe if not detected.
Click Recover PDFs. Existing PDFs are skipped. Inaccessible scan folders are logged. Original Publisher files are never intentionally saved, moved or deleted.
Each file uses a separate LibreOffice profile. A stalled conversion times out after three minutes. Cancel stops the app's own LibreOffice process and further exports.
PDF headers are checked before publishing, but this does not prove page count or layout accuracy. Inspect every PDF and retain originals. Very old formats may still fail.
Logs: %LOCALAPPDATA%/ScottywinsPublisherRecovery/Logs.
Recovery PDFs do not create Office to PDF Review & Finish records. No deletion feature is included.
Build: dotnet publish Source/PublisherRecovery.csproj -c Release -r win-x64 --self-contained true -p:PublishSingleFile=true -p:IncludeNativeLibrariesForSelfExtract=true -o Portable
Validation: build passed; fixture tests passed for recursive structure, output exclusion, PDF validation, failure isolation, original preservation and resume. LibreOffice is not installed on the build PC, so real legacy PUB conversion remains untested. UI preview inspected.
